This trip is not available during the whale season, from July 15 to November 20.
This trip is suited to people who want to discover recreational fishing.
It is designed to offer a fun fishing experience, mainly targeting small reef species, rather than trophy fish,
which are rare here (giant trevally, dogtooth tuna, etc.).
We release most of our reef catches to preserve the resources of the small island of Moorea, but you can still keep some for a meal.
We adapt the techniques to the day's conditions, depending on the wind, swell, current and drift. If there is little or no wind,
we fish vertically while drifting near the reef.
The reef in Polynesia is very steep and drops very quickly to 30 m, 300 m, 500 m and much deeper: think of it as an underwater cliff that
starts 100 m beyond the reef and plunges down to 2,000 m.
Even though up to three anglers can come on board, we only put two lines in the water at the same time to avoid tangles caused by the current and the drift under a small boat.
Bookings are for a standard 4-hour trip.
To increase your chances of finding fish by covering a wider area, a trip of 6 hours or more may be suggested the day before around 4 PM, depending on the latest weather
forecast, sea conditions and boat availability.
